About the course

This face to face course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider, giving you: • An in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect well being • Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues • Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress • Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgmental listening • Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support - whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix Format This is a classrom based course delivered by MHFA instructors. Learning takes place through 2 full days of learning with certified instructors in a face to face environment. Learning materials will provided at the venue and refreshments will be subject to the venues catering capabilities. Topics include; • Mental Health Awareness • MHFA Action Plan - ALGEE • Language and Stigma • Stress • Depression and Suicide • Eating Disorders • Self Harm • Anxiety • Psychosis and Bipolar • Recovery and Support Services Everyone who completes the course gets: • A certificate of attendance to say you are a Mental Health First Aider • A manual to refer to whenever you need it and learner workbook • A quick reference card for the Mental Health First Aid action plan • A workbook including a helpful toolkit to support your own mental health • MHFA Pin badge to wear • MHFA Lanyard Book now to obtain your recognised qualification with our licensed instructors.
